Robots Invade San Diego Air & Space MuseumSan Diego, CA - October 14, 2009 - The San Diego Air & Space Museum is proud to host the 1st Annual FIRST Robotics Day at the Museum on Saturday October 17, 2009. The event, free with paid Museum admission, will showcase young students and their robot inventions. The public will have the opportunity to see these robots in action and to meet the student inventors. "The Museum is proud to showcase the efforts of the next generation of engineers and scientists," said Jim Kidrick, Museum president. "Their efforts demonstrate how science can be a fun, hands-on, team-building activity, and these students should be proud of their incredible inventions. The San Diego Air & Space Museum is California's official air and space museum and education center. The Museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, and it was the first aero-themed Museum to be accredited by the American Association of Museums. Currently on display: THE DA VINCI EXPERIENCE, a special exhibition featuring remarkable reproductions of Leonardo da Vinci's most famous artwork and interactive replicas of his mechanical devices created more than 500 years ago.
