San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Hall of Fame Celebration 2006

(September 26, 2006) - The San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park takes pride in announcing its Hall of Fame Celebration 2006 Dinner on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the Museum’s Pavilion of Flight.

Three greats being honored for yesteryear’s Golden Age of Commercial Flight are Russian aircraft designer Sergei Vladimir Ilyushin, and airline industry trailblazers "Jack" Frye of TWA and William Allen Patterson of United Airlines.

Three giants of today’s private space exploration receiving the Museum’s inaugural 21st Century of Flight Distinguished Achievement Award are SpaceShipOne designer Burt Rutan, Ansari X Prize Chief Peter Diamandis, and visionary Paul Allen. Burt Rutan is the keynote speaker. The evening's Master of Ceremonies is KOGO 600 News Radio personality Mark Larson.

Net proceeds from the Hall of Fame Celebration will help fund the Museum's new Hall of Fame Engineering Scholarship, along with other essential Museum programs, activities and operations.

Black tie optional. Reservations required. The evening includes a reception with Dr. Diamandis and Mr. Rutan, and dinner. $200 per person/ Tables of ten at $1800 or $2500.

It’s back! The 4th Annual Amateur Photography Exhibition in partnership with the San Diego Air & Space Museum welcomes photographers of all ages and skill levels. We want you to take this opportunity to submit your photos of flight. With your imagination, the sky's the limit. Submit your photograph to the Air & Space Museum from October 30th – November 5th. Photographs will be on display from November 13th – December 29th. There is no fee to enter and all entrants will be invited to the Artists' Reception in December when prizes will be awarded.
