The First Paper Airplane Festival Was a Blast(April 5, 2007) - The first Paper Airplane Festival was such a blast we're doing it all over again this year as the San Diego Air & Space Museum presents its 2nd Annual Paper Airplane Festival on Saturday, April 14th. The event is free, all-ages, and will be held from 10am - 3pm in the Pavilion of Flight. Visit one of the many building stations to create your own paper flier or bring your favorites from home. The day will be so much fun participants won't even realize their learning the fundamentals of aerodynamics and such, but shhh... we won't tell them if you don't. Contests will be held throughout the day. Distance, freestyle acrobatics, accuracy, time aloft, and "visual appeal" competitions will be divided into age categories so adults needn't worry - you'll stand a chance at winning! But don't plan to leave before 3pm when everyone is invited to attempt to set a new world record for the most paper airplanes launched at one time! |
