VX-9 Vampires Lecture
Putting the 'Big Sting' on the Super Hornet!
Wednesday, March 14th
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ($10)

The VX-9 Vampires is a U.S. Navy Air Test and Evaluation Squadron based at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. Their tail code is XE, and they fly numerous USN and USMC aircraft and helicopters.

One of the aircraft is the U.S. Navy's newest and finest air superiority strike fighter, the Super Hornet.

Vampire Squadron Commander, Bruce Fecht, is bringing his top Super Hornet pilots to the Museum to explain how VX-9 readies the latest in sophisticated weaponry for use by the multi-role Strike Fighters, as well as discuss plans for the introduction of the next generation strike fighter aircraft, the F/A-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter.

Fecht, a Top Gun graduate and combat veteran of operation Enduring Freedom who lead the first strike against the Taliban and al-Qaeda training bases in Afghanistan, will discuss how accurate and effective U.S. Navy aircraft weapons are in protecting America.
