San Diego, CA - March 11, 2013 - Kids 12 and under are free this Saturday for the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s annual Paper Airplane Festival and the first-ever Fly Your Ride! competition finals. During the festival, visitors of all ages can engage and learn to fold many different types of paper airplanes; enter into competitions which include farthest flight distance, longest air time and flight accuracy; and participate in a mass launch at the end of the festival.
The Museum’s first annual Fly Your Ride! competition finals are also being held at the Museum from 10:00am until 3:00pm. Middle school and high school teams from all over San Diego County have been working tirelessly to design and build flying cars. Their final products will be tested to see if they can jump over an ever-increasing gap after going down a ramp. Scholarship prizes will be awarded to winners in each category. The Fly Your Ride! competition was made possible with generous sponsorship from the Ford Motor Company Fund.
